Some of the scenes that definitely need to be altered are the scenes where objects turned from gray to red. For example, the apple, chair, book, and Fiona's hair all were supposed to originally be gray then turn to red. Instead, these items were red in the first place and they just played a horrible screeching noise every time that something turned red. Rather than having them be red right away, they could have had gray objects and shined a red spotlight on them when they were supposed to be red instead of just having a screeching noise represent it. Besides the objects annoyingly not being red, the noise that they played really got on mine - and most likely a lot of other peoples' - nerves.
Along with those scenes being changed, other scenes that could have been changed would be the scenes where Jonas receives his memories. Though the actors did a good job of describing the scenes so that the audience could imagine them in their own ways, I believe they could have made it a little better. Other than having them just say what was happening in the memories, the actors could have acted out the scenes themselves to give the audience visuals. If the actual actors in the scene - the Giver and Jonas - couldn't act it out, maybe the other actors off stage could have done it. To give even more visuals, the scenes could have had backgrounds and more props so that the play seemed more realistic. Aside from those details in the play, it was pretty well done.
